Barry Hong

Co-Founder & Director of Strategic Development

Barry Hong brings a distinctive and complementary dimension to the Institute’s founding team, with experience spanning institution building, strategic development, international business, hospitality, wellness initiatives, and organizational management.

His early involvement with Dr. Chit-Chan Gunn and ISTOP provided valuable experience in developing organizational infrastructure and supporting the growth of an innovative approach to pain treatment. This background is particularly relevant to the Institute’s goal of integrating clinical innovation, professional education, and interdisciplinary collaboration into a sustainable international organization.

His international experience includes involvement with the Fragrant Hill project in Beijing, where he worked with Chien Chung “Didi” Pei, son of renowned architect I. M. Pei, in exploring the development of a world-class international wellness center. This experience broadened his understanding of how clinical, wellness, hospitality, business, and international development can be brought together in a comprehensive institutional model.

Within the Institute, Barry’s role will extend well beyond administration. As Director of Strategic Development, he will help shape the Institute’s long-term growth, organizational structure, international relationships, and strategic initiatives.
