The Institutes Philosophy and Goals
Core Values / Guiding Principles
Our Vision
The Institute for Functional TMD & Airway is envisioned as an international institution dedicated to clinical education, research, certification, and professional development, advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and management of temporomandibular disorders (TMD-Airway) and related craniofacial dysfunction. The goal is to diagnose and treat the oral complex as a whole, rather than to provide symptom relief for individual parts.

Who We serve?

The Whole-Patient Principle
The Institute serves healthcare professionals seeking advanced education in TMD, orthodontics, and airway health. Our programs promote a whole-patient approach to diagnosis and treatment, emphasizing the functional relationships among the teeth, occlusion, TM joints, muscles, craniofacial structures, and airway.
Functional approach to diagnosis and treatment
The Whole-Patient Principle
Diagnose the whole. Treat the cause. Restore function.

The patient must be evaluated as an integrated functional system—not as a collection of isolated anatomical parts. The oral complex is interconnected; the teeth, occlusion, temporomandibular joints, muscles, airway, craniofacial structures, and neuromuscular system function together.
Diagnosis should identify the underlying cause of dysfunction, not simply label symptoms. Treatment should address the cause rather than merely manage the symptoms.
Why choose us?
The Institute offers more than continuing education—it provides an integrated approach to diagnosis and treatment. Our programs combine a strong scientific, evidence-based foundation with practical clinical and laboratory training, equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to apply what they learn directly to patient care.

Scientific, Evidence-Based Foundation
The Institute for Functional TMD & Airway is committed to holistic care for the complexities of TMD, Airway, and craniofacial pain. The care is backed by clinicians' clinical experience and proprietary software for data analysis and treatment tailored to individual patient needs.

Practical Clinical Training
Our students will be trained using clinicians' clinical experience and proprietary software for data analysis and treatment tailored to individual patient needs. Training will be in person, online, or through individual one-on-one consultation.

Laboratory Training
Our students will be trained by our experienced technician in how to make dental appliances, 3D printing, and TMD orthosis, if they so desire.

Diagnostic Software
Our students will be trained using our proprietary software for data analysis and for tailoring treatment to individual patient needs. The empirical data can also help them write clinical papers, case studies, and data research papers.

Hands-On Technology
Our Institute provides advanced, clinically focused training through comprehensive hands-on instruction in cephalometric analysis, dental appliance fabrication, and treatment planning. Training combines individualized one-on-one mentorship with interactive small-group case analysis, enabling practitioners to develop the diagnostic knowledge, technical skills, and clinical judgment necessary for confident and effective patient management.

Clinical Equipment
Our Institute provides advanced, clinically focused training in the application of CBCT imaging, 3D printing, digital scanning, CNC technology, and advanced laboratory equipment. Through hands-on instruction, practitioners develop the technical proficiency to integrate these technologies into diagnostic, treatment-planning, appliance-fabrication, and clinical workflows.
Our philosophy is simple
Treat the patient as a whole, identify the underlying causes of dysfunction, and develop treatment strategies based on the individual—not simply the symptoms.
By connecting science, diagnosis, clinical skills, laboratory techniques, and technology, the Institute prepares practitioners to approach complex patients with greater knowledge, confidence, and precision.
